Teki Paki (洗脳ゲーム テキ・パキ, Brainwashing Game Teki-Paki) is a falling blocks puzzle arcade game developed by Toaplan and released in 1991. The game was only released in Asian territories, never receiving an official western release. A port to the Sega Mega Drive went into development but was never released. In 2021 it was released digitally by M2 for the Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay[]

Square blocks of 6+2 colors (red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, [silver, gold]) fall down three by three. If five or more blocks of one color are placed next to each other in any arrangement, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, they will disappear. The blocks on top of the disappearing blocks will fall into the space where the disappearing block was, encouraging chain erasing.

There are two special blocks: "Smiley," which connects to all blocks, and "Dynamite," which erases all blocks in the screen when five or more are connected. A silver block is added at level 70, and a gold block at level 100. From then on, the game continues with 8 colors until level 999, and there are no cancels or endings. The game is over when the entire field of 8 horizontal rows x 10 vertical columns is filled.

When the sum of the number of times of dropping and erasing blocks reaches 5, the player's level increases by 1. When it explodes, it will add 1 unconditionally. Erasing 10 pieces earns an additional 5,000 bonus points. The flag seems to be different in the simultaneous erasing of the same color and the different color. Although there is no special score by the chain, it can be said that it is a necessary technology because it is necessary to make a score by the simultaneous erasure.

If the player can successfully clear the screen, it can get 100,000 points, but it often becomes a hindrance, and it takes luck and skill to aim and destroy it. Also, since "Smiley" and "Dynamite" can be used together, it is possible to use them to simultaneously erase 10 pieces and blow them up (consecutive bonus).
